Baan 57 was established in the Autumn of 2015 but did not start our on line trading until winter 2015/16 with the primary aim of connecting individual artisans in Asia directly to western buyers. We are currently an online Fair Trade gift shop, selling unusual and interesting gifts and musical instruments from around the world and currently seeking membership of BAFTS, The British Association of Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers.

We have built up a fantastic and eclectic customer base and enjoy a healthy repeat purchase percentage. Having experience of 20 years in the travel & retail business, we have been able to develop a network of suppliers focussed on quality and design.

The exuberant nature of Asian craftsmen and their willingness to embrace new ideas, gives us an exciting and creative enthusiasm in selling and developing the products that our customers can use to help shape and style their homes.
We aim to follow guidelines in the way we do business with our suppliers with a focus on ethical trading. We buy as many products as possible from importers which focus on sustainable materials. A large number of products are made from recycled materials.
We currently offer fairtrade and ethical gifts online, selling unusual and interesting hand made and crafted gifts and musical instruments from around the world. We want to take our project to the next level and have a high street presence to sell our lovely items.
