Drone Tech Aerospace (DTA) - First to develop RFID reader for use on Aerial Drones (UAVs)
Drone Tech Aerospace Ltd developed a new RFID system for client Atkins Ltd that can be attached via a gimbal to a drone/UAV to deliver real-time data feedback to engineers on the ground.
The new technology was tested in a trial for Highways England and Connect Plus beneath a live viaduct on London's M25.
Drone Tech Aerospace collaborated with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to obtain all necessary authorization to fly within proximity of a live viaduct.
The trial was successful in reading data from various sensors via RFID and feeding the data via live RF stream to engineers on the ground.
