Servicing courts need to include the provision of court service maintenance because on-going cleaning, pressure washing, moss / algae treatment and re-colouring of the non slip paint is needed to be carried out to keep the playing characteristics and also the safety of the players. The courts must meet the specifications and accreditations set out in the governing body guidelines and this involves meeting a TRRL 55 slip resistance throughout its lifespan. Re-spraying and re-colouring the courts can be carried out only in dry conditions and are applied using an airless spray with either acrylic paint or polyurethane painted materials. Onto open textured porous macadam both water based acrylic paint and polyurethane paint can be sprayed onto the surface where normally a binder coat is recommended to strengthen the existing surfacing. Onto polymeric rubber sports surfaces a polyurethane coating can only be used and this is a moisture curing paint application with line markings added after the painted surface.
