With a traditional bar and lounge area, plus a large beer garden for those long hot Summer days and a huge fireplace to cosy up to in winter you will enjoy the kind of atmosphere you only find in a traditional English pub.

In 2012 The Brave Nelson was saved from closure by an incredibly strong local campaign, from both regulars and Local Councillors and the entire plot (Pub, Garden & Car Park) was registered as an Asset of Community Value.

In the Summer of 2014, under a new landlord, the pub underwent a cosmetic upgrade, the hand pumps, pipes and beer lines were replaced and the cellar improved. A brand new dishwasher, ice making machine and complete brand new kitchen was also installed as well as externally the garden was revamped, new windows, new garden furniture and an upgraded kids play area which the youngsters love.

We have three brand new wide screen TV's showing all the Major Sporting events as well as a great sound system for DJ's, Karaoke nights and the regular Live Music we host at weekends. Being a FREE HOUSE and as such completely free of being tied to any brewery we are able to stock in our cellar a huge choice of 'real ales' sourced from local breweries, a choice of cask ales as well as a wide range of premium lagers.

We have an extensive list of fine wines and champagnes served by the glass or bottle. In the summer of 2015 The Brave Nelson competed in the Brentwood in Bloom Pub Competition where we came 3rd out of 21 Pubs!
