Profile

Ideally located in Falmouth, Cornwall, The Rosemary B&B is situated between the blue-flagged Gyllyngvase beach and the bustling town centre. Falmouth is a lively harbour town, so why not leave your car behind at The Rosemary, and explore its fascinating old streets on foot. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall is just five minutes' stroll from here. Walk beside the harbour to Pendennis Castle, then take the ferry over to the lovely St Mawes to explore its sister castle.

A short drive takes you to the nearby Helford Estuary, with its romantic little creeks and pretty villages. Also nearby is the Lizard Peninsula, home to the UK's most southerly point. There is a wealth of beautiful gardens in the area: Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick, which can be reached by ferry. Falmouth is centrally located in Cornwall. A short journey will take you to the Eden project, North to Padstow, or West to the dramatic Penwith coast - perhaps even to Penzance or St Just to catch a ferry or flight over to the unspoiled Isles of Scilly. (Not forgetting to take your Rosemary picnic of course!)

Falmouth is a great place to find food and drink: try a selection of our favourites are Gylly Beach Café for great food in a relaxed environment, The Cove at Maenporth or Indaba at Swanpool for top quality food with stunning sea views. For some of the best fish and chips, visit The Harbour Lights or Rick Stein's new restaurant. There's a wide selection of great pubs and cafes throughout the town.

Take time out for your favourite sport or hobby. There are excellent golf courses at Falmouth Golf Club with spectacular views, Truro and a little further afield at Perranporth. There are plenty of sailing and water sports centres in Falmouth and Penryn and also sea kayaking for those wanting to explore the beautiful estuaries. For families, Falmouth's Ships and Castle Leisure Centre is great fun.
