Terrible service, unreliable and untrustworthy

I contacted D&M Hiab and Haulage in July 2020 by email asking them if we could hire a Hiab for a lift in Sheffield in August 2020. I was contacted by Mark Brookes who provided me with a quote for the hire. As we had not used them before, Mark asked for us to pay on a proforma basis. This is not uncommon now days in the construction industry. We paid for the work and agreed a date of 17 August 2020 for the work to be done. They did not pitch up on that date. So we called Mark and he said his Hiab had broken down and that it was being repaired and they would be on site the following day, 18 August 2020. They did not pitch up. We called Mark again and he acted like he did not know what job we were talking about. During the phone call he all of a sudden remembered and said he would be there the next day, 19 August. 2020. He did not pitch up and now he does not answer our calls. We have left numerous messages to him to call back and he has not.
