Profile
Luton Airport is well known as an important gateway into the UK, but the town itself and the surrounding countryside also have their fair share of attractions. There are two excellent museums, the Stockwood Discovery Centre and Luton Museum, and just outside town is the magnificent Luton Hoo, a stately home built in 1767 for the 3rd Earl of Bute. Royalty and heads of state have stayed here down the years, and now it's a hotel with a country club and 18-hole golf course. Luton also has many restaurants and shops selling everything from designer goods to bric-a-brac, and both Woburn Safari Park and Whipsnade Zoo are not far away, so keeping the kids happy is an easy task too. Parking in Luton can be a challenge, especially during the busy weekends. However, NCP's Luton car park at Regent Street is conveniently close to the shops and dining venues, so you can leave your car there and walk a short way on foot to be in the town centre within minutes. You can even pre-book your parking...
