If you are looking for someone to talk to about a specific issue or a difficult feeling or unwanted thoughts, someone who will not only listen in a non-judgemental and compassionate way but also very quickly start to help you work on the issue rather than just sit and listen, then you may have found the person you wanted.

I was trained in psychodynamic counselling after acquiring a degree in psychology (upper second) and a Masters in Cognitive Science. I still use aspects of psychodynamic theory but continue to build on this base to develop even more helpful means of assisting clients with their various issues.
In my experience it is so important not to lose sight of the person and I try to help all that I see to remember that even if they have a label of some kind, we are all unique individuals, all with something special to offer and all able to face life's challenges in our own way. I see my job as helping to bring out the power that exists in all of us, that we sometimes forget we possess.
