Who is Anil Uzun?

Anıl Uzun was born in 1977 in İstanbul. He graduated from German High School in 1985. His family wanted him to study in Germany so he decided to move to Köln to get higher education in communications. His real passion was cooking, so he worked in many restaurants and cafes during his university education.



The Uzun family is originally from Adana, a city that is famous for its cuisine. Anıl Uzun combined the delicious taste of Adana cuisine with Istanbul and German meals. When he got back to Istanbul, Anıl Uzun wanted to share his experience with restaurant owners but he did not like the situation in the restaurant business. The restaurant workers were not treated fairly, so he decided to make things better.



Anıl Uzun gave a pause in his cooking career and tried journalism. He worked in magazines, made interviews, and took part in the making of many stories. During that time, he met many people and many restaurant owners. He saw how a restaurant works and created a network for himself. Many restaurant owners saw the enthusiasm in Anıl Uzun and convinced him to become a professional chef and a business owner. He started cooking in many restaurants and had the chance to work with chefs that have Michelin Stars. Anıl Uzun became experienced in managing a restaurant in no time.



Later on, Anıl Uzun started working on opening his own place. He needed a plan, and to do that he started writing. He created a blog to record his experience in the restaurants he worked, and he started to form food recipes that are both delicious and healthy. His blog became popular in a very short period of time. With popularity, Anıl Uzun opened up a company with a partner. In the company, he started to give consultancy to restaurants on business administration and menu creation. Simultaneously, Anıl Uzun started his education on business administration. He traveled a lot to experience different cultures and their cuisine. His primary objective was to introduce health to Turkish cuisine. He traveled around the world and tried many recipes, studied many cuisines, and tried to find ways to infuse many food cultures together.



As he continues to give consultancy to restaurants for 8 years, Anıl Uzun kept blogging his experiences. He also had experience in journalism, so he combined journalism and cooking to create TV Show contents and recipes. In 2014, he created a Youtube channel to visualize his signature recipes. He still posts regularly on this channel.



Anıl Uzun always advocated that a delicious meal can also be healthy. He gave seminars on healthy food to share his knowledge and experience with others. As Anıl Uzun works as a consultant to many restaurants, his primary call to the restaurant owners is to introduce health to their menu.
