Air Tightness Testing & Thermal Imaging
Air Tightness testing (also known as Airflow, Air leakage, Blower door test or Air Permeability testing) is an essential requirement for new homes in order to comply with 'Part L' of the Building Regulations. This measures if or where the air is escaping or entering the property in uncontrolled ways, whilst ventilation is taking into account.
Another important reason to have an Airflow test is the impact air leakage would have on the building's EPC (Energy Performance Certificate). An EPC is where the energy efficiency of the building is measured. Measuring the Airflow will indicate whether the property's insulation and the building have been sealed correctly.
We can investigate and advice on following drafts, mould, rising damp and condensation. Our investigation into these issues in an essential service for Homeowners, Landlords and Estate Agents. To help avoid long-lasting damage, improve comfort and your house more safe.
Does your home feel draughty, has issues with mould, condensation or rising damp?
We may be able to help! We can conduct a permeability test using the same equipment and methods required by Building Control Officers for newly built properties. Additionally, we will scan the internal walls, floors, and ceilings with a thermal imaging system to identify cold bridges and heat escape routes. This will identify problem areas and help you make your home a warmer, safer, and healthier place! We will produce a detailed report and thermal images of all scanned areas.
