Profile

Colton Hills Community School

Colton Hills Community School is dedicated to providing every child the support necessary to succeed at school. They strive to help students become successful learners as well as confident individuals that can provide a positive contribution to their communities.

The curriculum at Colton Hills is wide and varied. From Key Stage 3, students take part in lessons designed to engage, linked with themes that can help them develop their skills. At the end of this stage, Year 9 students can then choose subjects that are linked to their interests, ensuring a tailored learning experience.

During Years 10 and 11, students then embark on a personalised qualification path, offering academic, vocational and work related courses. At this stage, English Baccalaureate is also available for high grading students in Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Double Science, History, Geography, Computer Science and Modern Foreign Languages.

Colton Hills also has the facilities to provide extensive further learning, helping students achieve A-Levels and BTEC Courses that provide progression from GCSE into Further & Higher Education, Apprenticeships or the workplace.

The teaching at the Wolverhampton school is focused on a personalised approach. A lively and interactive teaching style combined with individual tutor time ensures the students are given all the support they need.

This tutor time focuses on progress and academic achievement, helping increase students understanding of wider social issues, personal learning, thinking and teamwork.

Special Education is provided by a dedicated Learning Support Team. This ensures each child is offered a broad and balanced experience, with full integration to the mainstream curriculum if possible.

Extra Curricular activities are extensive and include subject clubs, debating societies, martial arts and both competitive and casual sports activities. The facilities at Colton Hills help provide these activities, with a professional Performing Arts Theatre, Dance Studio, Sports Facilities and large fields/Astro Turf pitches available.

If you're looking for a secondary school in Wolverhampton, Colton Hills Community School can provide both secondary and further education.
