Puffer Aground Self-Catering Cottages

The Puffer Aground Self Catering are two cottages located in the centre of the beautiful Hebridean Island of Mull, in the village of Salen.These two Isle Of Mull self catering cottages offer cosy accommodation in a central island location. Steeped in local history, the Puffer Cottage was once a nautical-themed restaurant and originally formed part of the Mull blacksmiths house.The sitting/dining area is still home to some of the portholes from the TSMV Loch Fyne (1931)- the first diesel electric passenger vessel. Well known on the west coast of Scotland. The Smiddy Cottage is equally as fascinating as its counterpart. Surviving as a Smith's throughout the Second World War. With all accommodation on the ground floor, this cottage is a perfect base for anyone looking for self-catering on the Isle Of Mull.
With an abundance of wildlife, the Isle of Mull is a bird watchers paradise, including two breeds of Eagle, but the island has so much more to offer. Minky wales, dolphins and otters are all regularly seen in the waters around Mull. With incredible sea-views, boat trips, hill walking and and good places to eat fresh seafood, it isn't hard to see why this is such a popular destination. Rates/Times

Our rates are for 7 days and the weeks run from Saturday to Saturday. Entry time is from 4.00pm and the cottages are to be vacated by 10.30am on the date of departure. We do welcome dogs and there is a small charge of £15.00 per dog per week. Any damage caused by dogs will be charged over and above this. Full terms and conditions are on our booking forms.

The Smiddy Cottage

The Smiddy Cottage is all on the ground floor and there are no steps. The sitting/dining area, and bedrooms have wood block floors with rugs. There is a studio couch that converts to a double bed in the sitting room. Heating is by night store heaters and an electric coal effect stove. Sky TV is installed with the usual choice of channels. (DVDS can be hired from the local Spar shop close by). The bedroom has a double bed, built in wardrobe with full length mirrored doors and dressing table with stool. A hair dryer is provided. Bathroom with panelled bath, shower and WC. Shaving cupboard with mirror and shaving point. The Kitchen is equipped with an electric ceramic hob cooker plus oven and grill. There is a dish washer, microwave, fridge freezer and toaster. In addition to crockery and glass etc a good selection of kitchen utensils are available, iron and ironing board, and cleaning equipment. The rent includes all bed linen, hand and bath towels, and electricity but we reserve the right to make a supplement charge in the Winter.There is car parking on site.
The Puffer - Isle of Mull Holiday Cottage, This is broadly similar to the Smiddy holiday cottage and is on the ground floor, however there are steps into and out of the cottage. The sitting, dining and bedroom areas are fully carpeted. There is a studio couch in the sitting room that converts in to a double bed. Heating is by night store heaters and an electric coal effect stove. The bedroom has a zip and link king sized bed that will convert to twin beds. A cot and a high chair are available and because this bedroom is larger than the Smiddy we would advise this property if you require a cot during your holiday. There are mirrored full length wardrobes, a chest of drawers and a hairdryer is also provided. Bathroom with panelled bath, shower and WC. Shaving cupboard with mirror and shaving point. Electric towel rail. The Kitchen is equipped with electric 4 ringed hob cooker plus oven and grill. There is a dish washer, microwave, fridge freezer and toaster. In addition to crockery and glass etc a good selection of kitchen utensils are available, iron and ironing board, and cleaning equipment. Getting to our cottages on the Isle of Mull

Ferries to Mull run from OBAN - CRAIGNURE or from LOCHALINE - FISHNISH
You are strongly advised to book your car on the Oban ferry well in advance particularly in high summer season.

The LOCHALINE - FISHNISH ferry is not bookable but operates a more frequent and cheaper service. The journey time being 20 minutes.
