Profile
I'm Tim and along with my wife Wendy we own and run the self-catering holiday business at Kinchellie Croft in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland.
We fell in love with Kinchellie the day we came up the drive to view it in 1988. We could not get over the magnificent scenic views. It was just like being in a 360-degree cinema.
Within a matter of days Kinchellie was ours and we started making what is now our home into a place others could also enjoy and have a great Scottish holiday.
We are a small, well run, self-catering family business with cottages and log cabins that keeps its turnover under the VAT threshold, allowing our customers to enjoy a wonderful holiday that is not too expensive.
Kinchellie croft used to be a working croft. It still has the feel of a croft with a barn, pig house and burn with fresh running water.
Most of the animals have long gone but not the atmosphere. We grow our own vegetables and have some chickens. There is a small orchard producing apples, pears, cherries and plumes. You can purchase eggs from us (if we have any available). The wonderful views that the crofter would wonder at, the peace he lived in with his family and animals are still present.
Like him you can see the eagles rising on the thermals and calling to their young. You can watch the deer munching the grass ever conscious of your presence.
Not far from Fort William, Kinchellie Croft offers a tranquil and magnificent location for your holiday at any time of the year.
Kinchellie Croft provides a choice of quality self-catering accommodation for all the family set in an 8-acre estate on the side of a hill, amongst the majesty of the mountains and forests of the most beautiful Scottish Highlands and overlooking the Nevis Ski Centre at Aonach Mor. The very well equipped 3 and 4 bedroom cottages along with 2 bedroom log cabins and a 3-bedroom bungalow each have spectacular views.
Because the self catering accommodation lies away from the main road and with no other surrounding properties, just hills and fields, Kinchellie Croft has become a very safe place for families with children and pets. In the surroundings of this rural location, eagles, buzzards, kestrels, sheep and deer can be seen at certain times of the year.
