An introduction to Stoneman Funeral Service.

Stoneman Funeral Service was established in 1865 and is now a fifth generation family owned and run business. The main office is located at Doran Court, Reigate Road in Redhill, Surrey. The memorials offices and showroom located at 49 Bell Street, Reigate have been there since 1932. Stoneman Funeral service also now have branch offices in Godstone and Tadworth, opened in 2003 and 2004 respectively, enabling them to offer their services over a much greater area than before.

Stoneman Funeral Service offer free advice which may be sought at any time. With their long experience as funeral directors, they are ready to act as advisers on all matters connected with funerals. Burials and cremations throughout the British Isles or abroad may be arranged with complete confidence through Stoneman Funeral Service.

Offices are open 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, but we operate a 24 hour help line, 365 days a year.

Prepaid and prearranged funerals

We are well aware of the concern many people have, either in respect of funeral arrangements for themselves, or for a relative or friend for whom they are responsible. Not just concern for the practical implications but most of all for the costs involved.As part of our service, we are able to offer private counselling to assist and advise on all aspects of prepaid, prearranged funerals or any other matters which may be of concern.We have prepared a comprehensive Prepayment Funeral Plan which is designed to meet specific individual requirements

Probate

When the deceased has left a will this needs to be proved at the Probate Registry. Once Probate has been granted, the executors named in the will are then able to administer the estate. If the deceased has not left a will they are said to have died intestate. It is then necessary to apply to the Probate Registry for Letters of Administration for permission to administer the estate. The assets of a small estate are sometimes released to the next of kin without Letters of Administration or Probate being granted. A solicitor's expertise in dealing with all aspects of the deceased's estate will of course save you a great deal of time, trouble and worry.The family solicitor may be holding a copy of the will and should be consulted as soon as possible. There may be important instructions in the will concerning funeral arrangements.
