Founded in 1895 by Joseph Colman a painter & decorator the business prospered with Joseph being succeeded by his sons Edward & Percy. In 1940 the sons employed a young recruit Kenneth Harper who eventually took over and ran the business until 1990 when he was succeeded by his son and current managing director Andrew Harper.
