Terrible

My 76 year old mother who lives alone needed a leak fixed on her toilet. Mr. Aspinall said he needed to replace the cistern. He told my mother not to worry about how much it would be as it just needed doing. He returned a week later and my mother asked her brother to be there as she was concerned about not having an estimate. When pushed, he estimated £250. He spent 4 hours on the job, including time to get parts, then told my mother, now alone in the house, that she owed him £500 which she felt no option other than to pay. I since obtained 2 quotes, both around £200 incl parts of approx £80. When contacted Mr. Aspinall has been un-cooperative and refused to supply an invoice, receipt or itemisation of parts. He told me he had charged £150 for parts and £350 for 4 hour's labour, and that if I didn't want my mother to get ripped off, I should have found her a tradesperson myself. Following our call, he has been back to my mother's home leaving her frightened and intimidated.
