We have been working in the power electronics industry for over 30 years. We have worked on the installation and commissioning of power systems in both domestic and commercial applications in the UK and overseas, with systems up to 1 MW in power output. We are very enthusiastic about solar PV, as this technology now enables the consumer to embrace the natural power of the sun and beat the ever increasing cost of fossil based fuels.

The output of the system is dependent upon the intensity of the light to which is exposed and therefore it will generate more electricity on bright days. However PV systems do not need to be in direct sunlight to work and even on dull days they will generate electricity. For the majority of homeowners, planning is not an issue and solar PV installations fall within 'permitted development rights'. Only if your property is listed, in a conservation area or in an Area of Outstanding Beauty will you need to apply for full planning permission.

The Feed-in Tariff has been introduced by the UK Government in order to increase the amount of renewable energy generated in the UK, towards or target of 15% of total energy from renewable sources by 2020. The above amounts will be paid for a guaranteed minimum of 25 years, index linked and tax free for domestic properties.

Typically, whole house savings are in the region of 10% - which means, household electricity bills will be around 10% less each year. Unlike Smart Meters, which require a change in lifestyle, or solar and wind power that are focused on renewable energy production, as opposed to preventing energy waste, Voltage Optimisation is a fit and forget solution.
