The Golden Lion sits proudly on Fareham's lovely old High Street, enticing guests through the doors with the unmistakeable smell of home cooking. A cosy, traditional place, the pub enjoys a friendly, relaxed atmosphere - an ideal environment for sampling that fine fare.
Food Service Times:
Lunch Monday to Saturday 12noon to 2.15pm
Lunch Sundays 12noon to 2.30pm
Evenings Monday to Saturday 6pm to 8.15pm

We have taken to using the The Golden Lion on a regular basis, mainly due to the very friendly management and staff, the pub has a wonderful atmosphere which is topped off with plates of delicious food which can be washed down with a few pints of very well kept ale, we strongly advise a visit to this little Fareham secret if your in the area.

Was recommended the Golden Lion and brought family here for a mid week lunch. Excellent service and very friendly atmosphere. Meals are definately for the hearty eater. Have since visited with a group of friends and now meet here fairly regularily. The staff are always obliging and the pub offers an excellent variety of meals. The chips are a 'must'.

Lovely friendly pub, I have had a few meals in their now and what can i say.....DELICIOUS, FILLING, HOMEMADE FOOD, served by chatty, friendly staff. I would highly recommend a visit. Wi fi FREE.......
“Excellent choice of food and warm welcome”
If you want to eat excellent food and enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere then 'The Golden Lion' is the place to visit. The pub offers a wide range of beautifully cooked, homemade food that uses locally sourced produce and the specials board is regularly changed to reflect this. Service is always with a smile and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. For the customers who are watching their weight, there is a choice of healthy options on the menu which is much appreciated!
It isn't difficult to see why this pub is ranked number 1 in Fareham-try it and see!
