About Us...

"Our aim is to save money for the UK public on the purchase cost of their prescription glasses, sunglasses and reglazes."
Rather than only having one pair of glasses due to the (until now) prohibitive cost of buying additional pairs wouldnt it be nice to have a pair for driving, a pair for watching TV, a pair for playing golf in, or simply different styles to suit your mood on the day?

Our laboratory actually supplies many high street retailers already, but by buying direct from Manchester Optical you can cut out the huge margins the high street retailers currently build in to their costs.
Our laboratory employs the services of general Optical Council Registered Dispensing Opticians who supervise the dispensing of all our glasses. Our directors have over 50 years of experience between them.

All our frames are priced between just £20 and £60 - and that includes all our designer ranges.
You won't pay more than £60 for your frame. This is not a sale but a permanent offer here at Manchester Optical.
If you don't want a new frame, we can re-glaze your own frame for you. Have you old frame refurbished, ultrasonic cleaned and with new pads and new tips.
You can even have your old lenses made in to sunglasses.

Mission Statement
Manchester optical was formed 4 years ago at it's present address 1 Berkeley street Ashton-under-Lyne OL6 7DT.

Our aim was to give our customers a different kind of experience when buying spectacles than they were probably used to if they bought them from there local high street optician.

We are very aware that customer service is at the forefront of peoples minds when making a costly purchase such as spectacles. So when putting together our team of professionals nothing was left to chance. Between the four members of staff we have, that you could see you on any given day, we have over 100 years experience in dispensing and making spectacles.

We never hard sell you anything. The advice we give is based on fact the results of your sight test and your personal requirements nothing else. When choosing a frame we won't be telling you that something suits you just to gain a sale. We want you to come back and buy off us again so this tactic we find to be unproductive. We will give you good honest advice on frame colours and shapes that best suit your skin tone and the shape of your face.

What type of lenses do we supply? All our lenses are first quality lenses made from the best materials available. From simple single vision and bifocal lenses to the very latest freeform varifocals either branded or unbranded.

What you can expect when you place a order with us? All of the above. An accurate costing for the work we are undertaking. We will never give you a price at the point of sale and then change it. All our frames come with a 12 month guarantee against normal wear and tear.
