London Strategic Housing was established in 2000. Our challenge is to provide a range of affordable accommodation that meets the needs and aspirations of a wide range of key workers and students. In 2002 LSH became the first housing association to register with the Housing Corporation to dedicate itself to the provision of affordable housing for key workers.
London Strategic Housing can now offer accommodation in a range of London boroughs as well as in the Home Counties. Properties are available for both rent and private purchase and include: Fully furnished shared flats, in which residents share communal facilities but have individual bedrooms and private en-suite bathrooms. Intermediate rent offers you the opportunity to rent a brand new or refurbished home, or a home that is being re-let at less than the market rate. The rent charged is up to 80% of the rent that you would expect to pay for a similar home in a similar area if you were renting from a private landlord.

We have a range of different types of Intermediate Rent homes including one, two, three bedroom flats and cluster accommodation - similar to traditional nursing accommodation where small groups of people share a self contained apartment.
Homes to buy
Shared ownership, which is also referred to as New Build HomeBuy or part buy part rent, is a government initiative to help first time buyers who cannot afford to buy outright on the open market get a foot on the property ladder.
With shared ownership you can purchase an equity share of between 25% - 75% of a property and pay a subsidised rent for the share you have not bought.
When you feel the time is right, you have the option to staircase. Staircasing means you can buy additional equity shares to increase the percentage you own of your shared ownership property and eventually own your home outright.
PSL and Temporary Accommodation
At LSH our Private Sector Leasing (PSL) team specialise in providing temporary accommodation to mainly homeless families nominated by our partner Local Authorities.
We are the third largest provider of temporary accommodation in London, employing a team of 24 staff to lease and manage properties from private owners for contracts of three years or more.
We provide a full housing management service which includes lettings, repairs and maintenance, rent collection and tenancy management.
We currently work in partnership with over 500 landlords and are always looking for opportunities to increase the number of homes we can provide. Last year we acquired 111 new family homes and we intend to continue this growth over the course of the next year.
