Established in 1983, The Oriental Rug Shop specialises in supplying high quality, decorative, handmade rugs and carpets from Persia, Afghanistan, and Central Asia.

There are approximately 800 pieces in stock, and each rug or carpet is a unique art-form, handcrafted by traditional methods with ancient designs and motifs.

With such a multitude of designs and colours to choose from, an Oriental rug will add ambiance and individuality to any room, whilst Persian and Afghan runners will brighten-up and add interest to even the gloomiest of corridors.

If looked-after a good Oriental rug can outlive its owner, and is therefore a durable investment for the benefit of the next generation(s).

Uniquely, The Oriental Rug Shop guarantees the full price paid on all classic Persian, Afghan, and Central Asian rugs and carpets in a part-exchange against any future purchase. (A part-exchange is defined as a purchase of at least 25% more than the original price paid).

Rug Restoration and Rug Cleaning

The Oriental Rug Shop also offers a first-class Rug Repair and Rug Cleaning service.

All manner of Rug repairs are undertaken: reweaves, re-piling, re-fringing (re-weaving fringes or fray back & secure), repairing sides (re-selvedging), stain removal, stretching (to make flat or straight), reducing (i.e. shortening), restoration of moth damage, restoration of flood damaged rugs, removal of colour-run, attaching of sleeves for hanging, etc.

Major rug restoration projects can also be sent to Iran for more cost effective repairs.

The Oriental Rug Shop also offers an excellent Rug Cleaning Service which will enhance and improve the appearance of any oriental rug. Cleaning is recommended to remove the dirt/dust particles that can lead to premature wear.
