Bassi, a world-leading company in the design and manufacture of battery chargers for electric vehicles, was bought by Sevcon in early 2016. It was established over 40 years ago and is based in Lugo di Ravenna, Italy, with a portfolio that includes a wide-range of products from on-board units to products suitable for public charging infrastructure projects.

As well as chargers it leads the field in power management and uninterrupted power source (UPS) systems for industrial, medical and telecom applications and electronic instrumentation for battery laboratories.The company has traditionally sold most of its products to the US and Europe, but since it was bought by Sevcon it has adopted a global focus. To date it has served more than 2,000 customers.
