Welcome to Dorchester House

Dorchester House is a traditional Victorian Lakeland guest house offering 4 Star accommodation, a very warm welcome, deliciously hearty breakfast and free WiFi. We are situated just a few minutes walk to Keswick town centre with shops, pubs and restaurants.

We have are seven cosy and comfortable en-suite rooms. Each room has a flat-screen TV, radio alarm clock, tea and coffee facilities including biscuits, herbal teas and hot chocolate. All rooms have a private en-suite shower with luxury towels, hairdryer and local Keswick & Co. hand-soap and shower/body wash.

Dorchester House serves a selection of breakfast options including our Traditional Full English Breakfast with Cumberland sausages, Lakeland bacon or Full Vegetarian Breakfast both with local free-range eggs. Little Salkeld Organic Porridge with a choice of toppings including our homemade Whiskey Butter. There is also self-serve yoghurt, muesli and fruit salad, plus cereals, toast, fruit juices, tea and coffee.

We are a few minutes walk from Keswick town centre, which offers a wide variety of unique local shops, pubs with local ales, restaurants, cafes and sandwich shops. Approx. 10 minute walk from beautiful Derwent Water and the Theatre by the Lake, which offers regular cultural events. Other town centre attractions include the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and the Cumberland Pencil Museum. The town also hosts a traditional market on Thursdays and Saturdays, plus annual Literary Festival, Jazz & Blues Festival, Film Festivals, Music concerts, Beer Festival and many sporting events throughout the year.

From our door - Keswick is within walking distance to many mountain trail walks, hikes and climbs with beautiful views and vistas. Further afield, 15-20 minute drive and you will find the Honister Slate Mine and Whinlatter Forest Park and a wealth of opportunities to explore the Lake District, World Heritage Site.
