Jay's restuarant is situated at the Ye Olde Fighting Cocks in beatifull Arnside, the oldest building in the village dating back to 1630.

Jay's offers a contemporary style with a formal restaurant, comfortable interiors, good beers, great affordable wines, and a welcoming friendly atmosphere. For an amazing menu at affordable prices book now.

The Fighting Cocks, has twelve recently renovated bedrooms, with the comfort of Eygptian cotton sheets, upgraded TV's, virtually all the rooms have wonderful views over the estuary and Lakeland mountains, and all have a seating area and a pair of binoculars.

We serve a fantastic traditional hearty breakfast.

We serve home cooked and freshly prepared food with daily specials, and a traditional roast on Sundays. For young ones we offer a special childrens menu, drink, meal and an ice cream. Jay's restaurant is open till 8.30 (except tues).

Our Beers

We normally have a minimum of three cask ales at any one time. We have a range of draught lager including Carling, Fosters, Coors Light & San Miguel, Kingston Press Cider, Guinness and Smooth. As well as a full range of bottled Lager and Ciders we have an extensive range of wines available by the glass or bottle.

Bed and Breakfast

Ye Olde Fighting Cocks offers offers both single and double en suite rooms making it a perfect retreat while visiting Lake District and Arnside Area.

All our rooms are en-suite equipped with televisions, hairdryer, trouser press. Radio alarm, and a welcome tray for guests to refresh themselves. Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 9.00 (Click Here To View Our Breakfast Menu). Fantastic views of the Kent estuary and the Lakeland mountains can be seen from the bedrooms, and we provide binoculars.

Outside a terraced garden allows you to watch the bore race up the river at high tide, do a spot of bird watching or simply while away your day. Our NEW 35 Foot stone Viking Ship is amazing !!

Facilities include a car park and barn where cycles can be locked away. For those without thier own transport there is a nearby railway station (we'll collect you) with links to the rest of the Lake District.
