Grovewood House has been a family run care home for over 20 years.

Originally a Vicarage Grovewood House was built in 1863 to house the vicar whose church is adjacent to the care home.

We are approximately 10 minutes drive from the historic town of Alnwick, 15 minutes drive from the well known seaside towns of Seahouses and Bamburgh. Alnwick Castle is famous for being cast in the Harry Potter films and also has the fantastic Alnwick Garden's which is a great attraction for both young and old.

We specialise in dementia care and all our staff are fully trained and DBS checked.

Linda Steele is the Care Manager and she is ably assisted by her sister Zena and brother Ayman in the running of the home. Family values are paramount in ensuring residents feel safe, their everyday needs are met and they maintain as much independence as possible.

Grovewood House has a total of 26 bedrooms including 3 en-suite. Each room has its own individual décor as well as TV, telephone points and wash basin. The care home has rooms in the original house as well as an extension to the rear. Most rooms overlook the beautiful landscaped gardens.

Our residents are actively encouraged to personalise their own bedrooms.

There are 2 main sitting rooms, a dining room and a small library.

The sitting rooms include a large screen TV and radio.

There are a number of bathrooms and shower room in the building each with hoists allowing for baths and showers to be taken by all.

We offer a laundry service, hair dressing, dental and podiatrists visit regularly or upon request. We also have a small shop where various items of toiletries, sweets and other personal items can be purchased.
