Website    Scotland locations is run by Cindy Thomson. I have been a Location Manager since 1995 and my work covers a wide range including features, drama, commercials, photo shoots, promos, documentaries, music and arts, & current affairs I have an excellent knowledge of Scotland and an extensive network of contacts within the film and television industry, civic and public bodies and departments, and corporate bodies I work closely with Creative Scotland's locations department, working on a wide range of film, television, commercial and corporate projects for UK and overseas production companies - often at short notice I work well under pressure, and as a location manager in Scotland I am, by necessity, both resourceful and adaptable. My work on period feature films and drama has often involved working within historic sites and monuments, and I have considerable experience in working with Historic Scotland

Extra Veg are an Edinburgh-based company specialising in bespoke visual communication across a range of formats. We produce feature films and television programmes and supply fully-equipped crews for broadcasters and independent production companies worldwide, and using our background in broadcast television we bring the same level of expertise to corporate communications.

Formed in 1989 by Paul Gavin (Producer and Director Cameraman) and Cindy Thomson (Location Manager and Production Manager), Extra Veg have produced work for a wide range of clients - UK and worldwide broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Fuji Television, Discovery Channel, ABC Networks USA and Australia), global organisations (Microsoft, Worldwide Fund for Nature), large blue-chip financial institutions (Standard Life, PriceWaterhouseCoopers) and major retailers (John Lewis) through to educational bodies (University of Edinburgh, Open University) and smaller local companies.

Extra Veg work closely with Creative Scotland and Edinburgh Film Focus, working on a wide range of film and television projects for UK and international production companies, often at short notice.

From concept to completion we are creative, experienced and efficient. We use state of the art broadcast technology, and we know how to use visual communications to deliver results. No two projects are the same, and with a small core team we utilise additional specialist freelance personnel and facilities to ensure that we offer a tailor-made, high-quality and cost-effective service to our clients.

We work on an unrivalled array of productions, regularly providing camera crews for television programmes across all genres, providing satellite services to worldwide newsgathering agencies, filming product launches (Range Rover Vogue at Skibo Castle), construction projects (the world’s largest and longest subsea gas pipeline for Discovery Channel), creating web content for hotel chains (Apex Hotels), filming Royal Visits for the Scottish Office (HRH Queen Elizabeth’s visits to Edinburgh, the Scottish Investitures), international corporate communications (HBOS CEO interview, New York), football for Fuji Television Japan, and we supplied and co-ordinated all eighteen location camera crews for MTV’s European Music Awards in Edinburgh, broadcast live to a global audience.

Whatever the platform and however diverse the topic, we produce content which works.
