Abrasive Blasting

The process of blast cleaning is generally used for the preparation of substrates to remove old coatings, mill-scale and oxides, and to provide a 'key' prior to the application of decorative or high performance protective coatings including thermal spray or galvanizing. The blast cleaning process will also highlight faults such as pinholes in welds and laminations in rolled steel sections that are not visible before the blast cleaning takes place

Specialist Coatings

Industrial wet paint coating is the traditional method for protecting and aesthetically enhancing structures and fabrications. B. A. W. Coatings carry out this process strictly in accordance with internationally recognised coating standards.

Metal Spraying

Thermal spraying protects and greatly extends the life of a wide variety of products in the most hostile environments and in situations where coatings are vital for longevity and integrity of essential equipment. This specialist applied protective coating is generally specified when hot-dip galvanising is not possible because the fabrications are too complex or distortion may occur during the galvanising dipping process.
Thermal spraying is carried out in a wide range of anti-corrosion and engineering markets, including oil and gas, construction, petrochemical and marine. The treatment is often specified for Offshore, Network Rail, the Highways Agency and the Water Authorities. Other applications include thermal spraying of trailer chassis, chimney stacks, exhausts and silencers.
Thermal spray coating can be used on smaller and intricate fabrications and can act as a replacement for galvanizing. It is applied in accordance with ISO 2063.

Instumescent Coatings

Heat from a fire triggers a catalytic reaction causing expansion of an isulting char layer up to 50 times the paint film thickness. This char keep the steel below critical temperatue to maintain the structural stabililty of the building. Depending on the thickness applied, the support can remain standing for at least two hours. A thin or thick film can be applied depending on the specification.
