Profile
Welcome
Mael Gael is a Panjabi word. It means to MEET and INTERACT.
We initially started this project to help the elderly. With pressures today in hospitals, more and more people are deciding to live in their own homes. This is because many of them are left on their own when partners have deceased and/or the family have moved away; this can create isolation and loneliness. We started with around 20 members and now have approx. 300 from all backgrounds.
Library
The library is based at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Havelock Road, Southall. It is located on the far right as you walk through the main entrance. It consists of hundreds of books, in a number of different languages.
Norwood Hall
Mael Gael is a project run by a team of very dedicated volunteers with the wonderful support of The Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Southall.
Please see by clicking on the pictures the history and the grounds of this wonderful Grade II Listed building called Norwood Hall that has been restored to its former glory. Initially called Norwood Lodge, Norwood Hall was designed by Sir John Soane for John Robins, estate agent, auctioneer and furniture maker who had worked with Soane.
