Counselling in Hornchurch and Loughton

I am an experienced, qualified counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I work in an integrative way, which means that I use theories and concepts from different therapeutic models. I believe that psychological problems are seldom caused by just one source or situation, and that therefore a variety of strategies may be useful for achieving the desired outcome.

Experience:

I have worked in different settings with children, adolescents and adults. In addition to private practice, I also work as a volunteer counsellor within secondary education and Mind Thurrock. I have previously worked as a counsellor in settings such as bereavement and addiction.

The typical issues that draw people to therapy are depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, abuse, sexuality, sexual problems, physical illness/pain, bereavement/loss, low self-esteem, phobias, problems at work/college/school, stress, suicidal feelings, isolation, crisis, anger, self-loathing, feelings of failure, feeling wrong and bad, and economic difficulties. I am experienced in working with each of these.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and, as such, I am bound by its Ethical Framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy. I am supervised by a qualified clinical supervisor and have a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate certifying me as suitable for working with vulnerable children and adults.
