Since our beginning in the backroom of Cyril Ridgeon's home in Cambridge in 1911, RIDGEONS has grown steadily to become one of the UK's largest independent Timber and Builders Merchants. We are now a fourth generation Family Business with two great grandchildren of Cyril serving as Family Directors of the company.

Our mission remains the same as in Cyril's day; namely, to make it easier for you to do business. With our support on hand to provide all your building needs quickly and efficiently, we aim to give exceptional customer service and advice at every step.

In the last 100 years our client base has grown to include such diverse sectors as property development, the public sector, farming, exports and DIY. Our commitment to excellent service and to an outstanding width and depth of stock available for collection or delivery remains the same. Our extensive range covers bricks, timber solutions, kitchens and bathrooms, plumbing and heating, through to paints and fixings to meet all your project needs across the eastern region.

Ridgeons Timber and Builders Merchants first started trading with the sale and distribution of timber back in 1911. A century on, timber remains a fundamental part of the business.

A recent multi million pound investment keeps Ridgeons at the very forefront of the industry. This included a new modern timber mill and increased warehousing at Ridgeons Forest Products, Herringswell.

Heating & Plumbing

Ridgeons hold large stocks of heating and plumbing products at any one time around a number of branches, which makes us one of the largest suppliers in the East of England. With 8 Heating and Plumbing Centres across the region, there's one near you.
