Fostering In Walsall is the local authority fostering service for Walsall Council, helping children to feel safe, secure and cared for.

Fostering is about looking after children on behalf of the local authority in your own home, when their own families are unable to do so.

Who can foster?

We ask that our foster carers have a spare bedroom at home which can be used for fostering and that they have the time and desire to want to care for a child, helping to give them stability and support at what could be a challenging time in their lives.

Walsall Council offers an extensive package of training and support to foster carers to help them in their role and develop their skills. There are also competitive allowances and fees payable to fostering households for looking after children on behalf of the local authority.

You may be from any cultural, ethnic or religious background; be single, in a same sex relationship, married or co-habiting and may already have children or not. You also don't need to own your own home.
