About Us...

Warwickshire Flyfishers is a private, non profit making Club, formed in 1967 to foster and extend the art of fly fishing. Our lakes in Warwickshire, bordering Leicestershire, (2 at Wolvey & 2 at Copston Magna) are now stocked with Rainbows up to 10 Ibs and occasionally Brown Trout to 3 lb, and are open all year.
In April 2016 we introduced a stocking of Tiger Trout averaging 6-8 Ib in our lakes at Wolvey.

Our stretch of the river Swift (approx.4 Km) is stocked annually with Browns to 1 lb. There is also a good head of larger resident fish.

The fishing locations are in excellent surroundings with abundant wildlife.
Club members are encouraged to participate in projects, especially in pool maintenance and river fishing improvement plans. The club has a very sociable membership and is willing to support newcomers from beginners upwards.

More Information...

Welcome to Warwickshire Flyfishers
Superb Fly Fishing in Warwickshire, close to the border with Leicestershire.
Trout stocked up to 10Ib. Open all year with a choice of 2 lakes at Wolvey and 2 at Copston Magna, plus a 4km stretch of the River Swift.

River Swift
The River Swift is a small, clay-based tributary of the River Avon, flowing in a roughly southerly direction from near Gilmorton before joining the Avon at Rugby.

Warwickshire Flyfishers Club have the rights to fish the North bank stretching from close to the village of Churchover to the A5 at Bransford Bridge, approximately 4 km of river. The river has a good head of coarse fish - roach and perch over 2 pounds, and chub to 6 pounds - all of which take dry fly and nymph. In the last seven years, WFF has stocked up to 250 brown trout annually, with one stocking in April and another in June/July. Generally, the stocked fish are under a pound in weight. However, we do now have trout that have grown on to 6 pounds.

The club encourages its members to participate in projects and pool maintenance.
For general lakeside maintenance (grass cutting, hedge trimming etc) work parties are planned throughout the year. Work parties are organised for a Sunday morning, commencing at 9am and generally finishing about 1.00pm. The more volunteers that turn up the more we are able to do. Work party dates are posted adjacent to the booking in areas and can also be found in the Diary date section of the website.
Other larger projects are organised on an ad hoc basis with members notified by email if volunteers are required.
