Our Facilities
The move to the Armstrong Works in Newcastle in 2014 has given Responsive Engineering 33,300m² of manufacturing space and includes the capability to cut, profile, fabricate, weld and machine a wide range of steels, aluminiums and super alloys. In addition, the 20 tonne work piece weld manipulation capability, paint-shop, large capacity vertical and horizontal CNC machining centres, and 16,000m² of under-crane production space allow us to offer a complete and comprehensive inspection, assembly and test service to our clients.

Our customers in the Oil & Gas, Subsea, Power Generation and Defence sectors have demanding expectations of their supply chains. We continue to meet these expectations, giving assurance to clients that the actual quality, traceability and documentation packs meet or exceed their requirements.
QHSE is taken seriously. Rigorous management systems ensure that our activities do not impact negatively on people or the environment around us whilst delivering quality products and services.

Delivery
We are committed to delivering quality products on time, with dedicated project managers responsible for keeping their customers informed about the status of their order throughout our manufacturing process.
We operate within an ISO 9001 quality management system, and utilise the appropriate material requirement planning IT system, which enables us to monitor and communicate progress from order intake to despatch. We also have the capability to ship products around the world.

Machining
Our unique machining business stream at Responsive Engineering allows us to support demanding clients across many different market sectors. Our exceptional breadth of machining capabilities ranges from conventional, through small precision CNC, large 5-axis multi-tasking to very large gantry and horizontal milling machines.

We have comprehensively equipped sub-contract specialist welding facilities, covering multiple material types, supported by a large clean room for the welding of non-ferrous alloys in a controlled atmosphere.

Cutting
We are one of the UK's leading suppliers of waterjet cutting, laser cutting and high definition plasma cutting. One of the first companies to incorporate waterjet technology, we have the capability to cut almost any material.

Fabrication
We have one of the best equipped contract fabrication facilities in the UK, covering multiple material types, from small components to very large fabricated structures.

Pressing
The pressing team at Responsive Engineering is regularly engaged in the manufacture of pressed, formed, machined and assembled products. Our flexible and versatile facility can press everything from the smallest components, to coil fed high volumes.

Testing
A full range of both in-house and independent NDT services are offered ensuring that the finished product meets all client and industry specifications.

Coating
We have recently completed an extensive refurbishment and maintenance upgrade of the grit blast and paint spraying facilities at Armstrong Works.
