These are some of the highlights you will see:

Fairy Pools

Fairy-Pools

We start on our journey with a drive to the Fairy Pools in the shadow of the Cuillin Mountains. The pools are located in one of the most dramatic landscapes on Skye. The fairies regularly bathe here, in the crystal clear green pools of the River Brittle. Weather permitting, you can swim in the pools of the river, one of the UK's best wild swimming spots. Have fun diving under natural arches and waterfalls, but please do not spy on the fairies, as they can easily take offence!

Talisker Distillery

Whiskey Taste

Talisker distillery based in Carbost is the only whiskey distillery on the Isle of Skye, the whiskey is a single malt Scotch, with a very distinctive Peaty-smokey taste. We shall go through the visitor centre (not on the tour) and if available sample one of the fine whiskeys produced hear, prior to our lunch.

Neist Point

Neist Point Lighthouse on Skye

We travel to the far west of the island to the dramatic Neist Point. This is the best place on the island to spot whales, dolphins and sharks. Here we transport you to the edge of the world, with its beautiful scenery, awesome skies and endless ocean. Come with us and see for yourself why Skye has been voted by National Geographic as the fourth greatest island visitor experience in the whole world!

Dunvegan Castle

Dunvegan-CastleDunvegan Castle is our next stop. Visit the ancient MacLeod clan castle, set in beautiful gardens, and see for yourself the flag from fairyland which is dated between the 4th and 7th centuries A.D. The entrance fee to Dunvegan Castle is not included.

Fairy Bridge

Fairy Bridge

We continue to the Fairy Bridge, sitting between the peninsulas of Waternish and Dunvegan.

The bridge is said to mark the place where a fairy wife of a MacLeod chief said her final farewell to her husband and child before she left them to live amongst her own people. She wrapped the child in a magical fairy shawl, which brings protection to the MacLeod clan. This shawl was preserved; it is the famed Faerie Flag of the MacLeod clan, which can be seen today at Dunvegan Castle.

We will be taking a lunch break and there will always be a cafe or shops for you to buy lunch or just bring a packed lunch.
Please bring cash, as some places do not accept cards.

On this tour you will experience a rugged land of magnificent peaks, fast flowing rivers and isolated moors.

We will transport you to the far northern peninsula of Skye at Trotternish, where you will have plenty time to explore and take several short walks in an area of fantastical landscapes and stunning coastal vistas.

These are some of the highlights you will see:

The Old Man of Storr is one of the iconic natural features of the dramatic Trotternish Ridge.

The ridge is a mighty inland cliff, the longest in the UK, rising to a height of 720m. This amazing landscape should be part of any tour to the island and has made Trotternish the most popular visitor destination on Skye.
The Old Man is a 200ft stone pillar, which has detached itself from the highest point of the ridge, creating a fantastical landscape of twisted rocks, looming shadows and swirling mists, film location for among others the Ridley Scott 2012 directed science fiction film Proetheus.

The Quiraing

Quiraing

We take the opportunity to drive right up to the Trotternish ridge at the Quiraing, lying in the far North of Skye.

The Quiraing is a landscape used in many sci-fi films, known for its wonderful rock formations and stunning coastal views. This is a place like no other, part of the largest landslip in Europe.
Come to the cliff edge with us and see it for yourself!

Jurassic Skye

Staffin

The Trotternish coastline is the most famous on Skye. It dates from the Mid-Jurassic period, formed 175 million years ago and is the dinosaur stamping ground of Scotland. The beaches are rich in fossils, the rocks are ancient and twisted. The whole coastline has been designated as an outdoor museum. Interpretation panels bring the area to life, explaining the unique geology of this land. As part of the tour we will visit two indoor museums. The dino museum has an internationally important collection of dinosaur fossils: here you can see their footprints embedded in stone, taken from the local beaches.

At the Highland Life Museum you will see a whole village of traditional black houses, complete with thatched roofs and can learn about the old ways of the native peoples. Enjoy some of the best shopping on the island in the museum shop filled with quality local products.

Fairy Glen

Fairy Glen in Uig

To finish our day we stop at the charming Fairy Glen. This is the most important meeting place of the fairies on Skye. Wander between countless conical mounds, known in the Highlands as fairy knowes; put your ears to the grass and listen for the fairies at work inside.
Bend down to search for elves in the glen's miniature forests, take the twisted path to the top of the fairy castle or walk the faun's maze and have a wish granted!

We will be taking a lunch break and there will always be a cafe or shops for you to buy lunch or just bring a packed lunch. Please bring cash, as some places do not accept cards.
