is a beautifully restored horsebox, injected with a touch of vintage and retro styling to provide a unique drinks experience.

We love a good do!
Planning an event can be a daunting experience. All you want is for your guests/partygoers to have a good time. Gentleman Jim's ensures just that: offering a huge selection of cold drinks regardless of location, be it in a barn, field, marquee, woods, on a private beach, or at a country house.

Booking & Venue
Gentleman Jim's bar is versatile and can cater for both outdoor and indoor events. The horsebox is mobile and can go (size permitting) into any large enough indoor space with access. Measurements are 6m long, 3.5 m wide [when operational] and 2.7 m high.

If the venue is new to us, then ideally we would like to pop along in advance (we want everything to run smoothly). If that is not possible, we will talk to the venue in advance.

We cover the radius of 60 miles from Cambridge. However, we are happy to travel further but it may incur an additional cost.

Gentleman Jim's is self-sufficient regarding power. However, we prefer to have access to electric hook up.

Drinks
We provide a full drinks menu at competitive prices. We can offer up to 5 different draft ales, ciders, and lagers with 12 serving taps. We have a full list of spirits, champagne, prosecco, wine and soft drinks. All our drinks are served cold, and are fully refrigerated. We are more than happy to add to our wide drinks selection to cater for your individual tastes and event e.g. mulled wine and ciders for colder days. We can get your favourite cider, ale or lager ordered for your special event - No two events are the same with Gentleman Jim's. Gentleman Jim's can create a drinks service bespoke to your event.

We do love a cocktail - we can make you a bespoke mix for the special day. Speak to us in advance for tasting.

We offer a wide selection of wines. Once again, please speak to us in advance for tasting.

We use elegant, shatterproof, recyclable glasses.

Staff
We always provide our own staff. We don't employ agency staff, just people known to us who share our passion for quality service.
Our staff wear smart clothing in keeping with our first class service. Everyone loves a tie and waistcoat!

Licence & Legal Stuff
Gentleman Jim's is run by Matt who has is own Personal Alcohol Licence and will organise, where necessary, a temporary event licence.

Gentleman Jim's is fully insured with Public Liability Insurance.

We never want to stop a good party! However, we have to be guided by local licensing and venue restrictions. We will discuss this in advance with you.

How does it work?
Guest Paying Bar
You may want to do a 'Guest Paying' bar - our prices are very competitive. We have a full cellular Worldpay card machine so your guests do not need carry a wallet full of money to have a good time. Our card machine works in the middle of field in the middle of nowhere, so there is no need to worry about being without your favourite tipple.

Pre-paid Bar
If you would like a free bar for your guests/party-goers, we would take an up front payment based on the number of guests expected and your budget, if necessary, we would bill you for the remainder afterwards.

Combination of Pre-paid and Guest paying
Alternatively, you could put some money behind the bar for your guests and we only start to charge guests when this has run out. Some of our clients like this idea but are worried that the usual suspects get more than their fair share of the pre paid drinks so we also offer a voucher service.

Voucher
You give your guests a voucher(s) and they can exchange this with us at the bar for a drink. That way even Auntie Ethel gets a drink before the tab has run out. Vouchers can be purchased in advance for all guests [or selected guests only] and can vary in price depending on the selection of drinks you want available for your voucher exchange.

Flexible
We welcome any ideas you may have; after all it is your occasion!
