Profile
Theatretrain classes combine two essential elements for the performer - individual skills in acting, dancing and singing and team skills in performance. Since 1992 the company has given over 90 performances in West End theatres as well as performing at the O2 Arena (2013) and annually at the Royal Albert Hall. These productions are specially created by the company to give everyone about 80% of time on stage and a real grasp of how to prepare and how to perform.
The company philosophy is built on the work of founder and Artistic Director Kevin Dowsett who for over 40 years has pioneered performing arts training for young people and who taught a generation of now famous performers.
Storytelling, sound, movement, time, space, creativity and the audience are the key aspects of the training. The aim is to create performers who are alive on stage to each other and the audience, who can get in touch with feelings and who are generous to each other and serve the work rather than themselves.
